Origami Nunchaku
Nunchakus are eastern military weapons for defense and attack. They consist of two short thin sticks connected to each other by a rope or chain. Due to skillful rotation and interception, they can cause severe damage to the enemy: knock a weapon out of their hands, upset their balance, or deliver a strong breaking blow. Stunts with such weapons look very spectacular: rotation in a circle, figure eight, or interception occur at such a rapid speed that the combat weapon becomes invisible. The accuracy of movements is developed through many years of training.
What boy hasn’t dreamed of being a martial arts master and twirling nunchucks? Now, there is such an opportunity! You can make a sample of a combat weapon and start training right now. To create it, you will need seven sheets of office paper, scissors, and glue. When finished, the handles of the weapon fit well in the hands, having the length necessary for a comfortable grip. Many layers of paper provide chain strength, density, and weight to the entire product.
For one handle, place 2 sheets of paper vertically so that the bottom sheet protrudes from above by a couple of centimeters. This is a gluing strip. If the sheets are completely coated with glue, then the finished handle will become even denser and harder when dry.
Repeat Steps 2 and 3 and make another handle. You need to try to ensure that the tubes are the same in thickness.
Insert one link into the loops of the tubes, close them into a ring, and secure them with glue.
Insert the last link blank into the rings of two tubes, close it, and glue it together. Everything worked out!
Nunchucks are prohibited by law in many countries. However, such a harmless paper sample will not harm anyone. You can train dexterity, intuition, and coordination of movements.
