Origami Tank with Turning Tower

You can make a very cool tank from one sheet of office paper. The homemade vehicle will have all the main parts of the hull: tracks, battle turret, long gun barrel, armored front, and fuel tanks. However, the most important thing is a special fastening mechanism that will allow the armored turret to rotate in a circle and aim in any direction.

Detailed instructions and simple paper folding skills without drawings or markings will make the assembly process simple and fun. Care and careful execution of all steps of work will help to avoid mistakes. In addition to paper, you will need glue and scissors. The work will take at least half an hour, but the result will surprise and delight.

Step 1

Divide a sheet of paper into four equal parts. To do this, mark the middle lines, alternately bringing together opposite sides. Cut.

Step 2

For the hull and chassis of the tank. Take a sheet of paper and place it horizontally.

Step 3

Align the top line with the bottom and open it back. Fold the top and bottom sides towards the middle.

Step 4

Bend the sides of the shape from the middle to the edge up and down.

Step 5

Turn over.

Step 6

Bend the strip in half and open it back. Align the sides in the middle.

Step 7

Glue all internal accessible parts.

Step 8

Place the sheet with the wide side towards you and fold it.

Step 9

Cut into two parts.

Step 10

Bend the top side of each part towards the side. Trim the overhanging part to make squares.

Step 11

Place the triangle with its top down. Connect the side corners and vertices. Repeat the same on the second shape.

Step 12

For the tank cannon. Fold a horizontal sheet of paper in half, aligning the sides.

Step 13

Cut along the fold line.

Step 14

Twist the horizontally located part into a tube and fix it with glue.

Step 15
Step 16

From the second part, make a connecting element for the rotation of the turret. Fold the sheet in half along a long line.

Step 17

Fold the sides three times towards the middle.

Step 18
Step 19

Fold the strip in half and glue.

Step 20
Step 21

Cut the last sheet into four parts.

Step 22

To do this, draw lines by folding the paper in half crosswise twice.

Step 23

Fold the first part in half lengthwise and glue it together.

Step 24

Аold the second part in half as well and glue it.

Step 25

Fold the top part to the side. Bend the resulting edge on the side to the bottom line of a small triangle. Glue it.

Step 26
Step 27

Fold the third part in half and cut into two narrow strips.

Step 28
Step 29

Wrap the tube.

Step 30

Fix the tank gun with glue.

Step 31
Step 32

Glue one turret part onto the hull and chassis parts. Arrange it in a diamond shape with a fold up.

Step 33

Shorten the cannon part by one-third.

Step 34

Glue the second turret blank inside the folds.

Step 35

Glue all the opening parts along the folds.

Step 36

Bend the connecting part of the rotating mechanism as shown in the sample.

Step 37

Place the wide part of the joint inside the folds of the turret in the center so that the free edge protrudes outward.

Step 38

Glue the blank to the base of the connecting part.

Step 39

Twist the part protruding beyond the base into a tube and glue it. The result is the tank of a combat vehicle.

Step 40

Shorten the shape from Steps 27-31 and glue it to the other side of the rotating mechanism.

Step 41

This is an armored shield.

Step 42

Bend the free edges of the connecting part to the sides, turn around the axis, and check the freedom of movement.

Step 43

Glue the second part of the turret with the cannon. Now, the entire warhead rotates in a circle.

Step 44

Spread the side parts of the base to the sides. This is the chassis of the tank, the tracks.

Step 45

There you go!

Forget about the computer and call your friends! You can create your own tanks or maybe an entire armada. How about you group armored vehicles, build a battle strategy, use tactical techniques for placing military vehicles, maneuvering between obstacles, and changing the terrain? It is very interesting.
