Origami Battle Trident
The trident is a symbol of the gods and a military weapon. The long handle ends in three sharp spikes with hooks. Gladiators used it in fights with animals, in recreational competitions, or battles. The trident was a dangerous weapon in skillful hands and attracted the attention of spectators with its shape. In close combat, it delivered crushing blows and pierced armor. It could be used for throwing, like a spear in ranged combat or mounted battles.
An interesting toy – a trident – can be made from paper. To make it, you will need 10 sheets of paper, scissors, glue, and some free time. The spikes of the trident will be strong and the hooks will be sharp. If desired, the handle can be extended.
Twist a tube from two sheets of paper.
To conveniently fix the edge, move the top sheet towards you so that there remains a strip for applying glue.
For the second tube, prepare two more sheets. Before twisting, mark the middle line, aligning the sides.
Cut the finished tube into two equal parts along the marked line.
Mark the center on a piece of paper by folding it in half. Open back.
Fold the side towards the middle three times.
Bend the figure in half lengthwise. Glue the strip along its length.
Make another similar blank.
Place a long tube in the center of the prepared strip and short tubes on the sides.
Glue it, then glue the second strip on top.
To make hooks, cut two sheets of paper in half. Take three parts to continue making your weapon.
Fold half the sheet in half towards itself and in half to the side.
Bend the top of the figure to the side and open it back.
Now, bend the top of the figure to the intended line.
Fold the side of the folds to the opposite edge.
Fold the parts of the paper protruding at the bottom and tuck them in.
Make two more of the same hooks. Glue the hook parts to the top edge of the tubes.
Place two sheets of paper with a shift, as in the creation of all tubes.
Place the finished handle on the edge of the paper and coat it with glue. Twist the tube and glue it. The trident is ready!
Making paper weapons is a very interesting process. You can attract friends and family to it. It is a great chance to arrange a photo shoot, organize an amusing tournament, and train your agility and speed to have fun communicating.
