Origami Boomerang

Boomerang is a cool origami. Not inferior to the real one: if you throw it, it comes back!

Step 1

Prepare a sheet of A4, and cut it lengthwise into two halves. Take one of them, and place the colored side down.

Step 2

Fold the paper along the vertical axis, work the fold, and unfold.

Step 3

Now fold the right and left sides so that each does not reach the center line about 1mm.

Step 4

Fold the figure along the horizontal axis in half.

Step 5

Bend the two top corners inwards so that their tips are level. Carefully work out the folds and unfold the paper.

Step 6
Step 7

Position the figure horizontally and unfold the bottom half.

Step 8
Step 9

Pay attention to the center part of the paper: make a concave bend along the dotted line shown in the photo.

Step 10
Step 11

Make the same bends along the center and right lines at the top and the lines forming the diamond in the center. The better the paper is worked on the folds, the easier it will be for you in the future.

Step 12
Step 13

Now make convex folds along the following dotted lines.

Step 14

Place the top of the figure perpendicular to the table.

Step 15

Slowly and carefully bend the figure, holding it by the opposite sides, until the bottom part is folded at the seams and our figure is a stable figure of the digit “7”.

Step 16
Step 17

At the bottom of the “seven”, wrap the left half inward.

Step 18

At the top, wrap the top half inside.

Step 19

Then fold the bottom half up, tucking its right corner into the pocket as shown in the photo. Make sure it doesn’t get wrinkled.

Step 20
Step 21

Let’s move on to the final touches. A little open the bottom part of the figure, fold the corners inward, work out the folds, and unfold.

Step 22
Step 23
Step 24
Step 25

Orienting on the fold lines, turn the left corner inward. To do this, press the tip of the corner and press it between the two layers of paper. This technique in the art of origami is called “internal reverse folding”.

Step 26
Step 27

Tuck the right corner into the pocket that you got on the left.

Step 28
Step 29
Step 30
Step 31

Repeat 3 previous steps for the opposite end of the figure.

Boomerang is ready! Throw it holding the center corner. Enjoy the game!
