So, are you ready to make another origami hat? There are many different hat options on our website, and this one has its own peculiarity. You might think that it is called flat because of its resemblance to a plate, but it is not. In fact, this hat is a kind of transformer. Its structure allows you to store and move it in a flat state. So, it fits freely in a bag, book, or even in your pocket. When you want to use it, you can simply open it at the base and it will be ready for use.
A rather miniature hat, which is suitable for children’s toys, is obtained from an A4 sheet. If you want a child or an adult to wear the hat, then you better take a sheet of newspaper or wrapping paper in the same proportions.

Step 1

Bend the sheet of paper along the longitudinal axis, then unfold.

Step 2
Step 3

Fold in half along the horizontal axis.

Step 4

Bend the top corners to the center line.

Step 5

At the bottom, you should have a rectangle. Fold its top layer in half upward.

Step 6

Fold it up again, as shown in the photo.

Step 7

Turn over the paper.

Step 8

Fold the right and left sides toward the middle.

Step 9

At the bottom of the figure, you should have a rectangle.

Step 10

Fold both layers of paper up, crease the fold, and unfold.

Step 11

Bend the lower right and left corners inward to the first fold line.

Step 12

Now, bend the entire lower part up and tuck the end into your pocket, carefully following the instructions in the photo.

Step 13
Step 14
Step 15

Fold the top corner down and tuck it into your pocket as well.

Step 16
Step 17

Look! Your hat is ready!

Now, you can open it at the base and press down a little on top, then it will take on its formal appearance. When the game is over, folding the hat will also be relatively easy: spread it out from the inside and then lay it flat on the table. Enjoy the result!
