A large hammer or sledgehammer is a tool for builders, and also a special weapon in computer games for delivering strong and accurate blows. With a sledgehammer, you can instantly stun an enemy, destroy an enemy’s fortification, or fight a villain against whom conventional weapons are powerless. With such a cool craft made from paper, it’s easy to imagine yourself as an all-powerful hero with incredible strength.

According to the proposed folding pattern, the hammer will turn out to be really large, more than 50 centimeters long. It has an impressive head and a durable handle. A special fastening technology will prevent the head from coming off upon impact. The main parts are two-layer. To create this tool, you need 8 sheets of white or colored office paper, scissors, glue, a ruler, and a pencil for marking.

Step 1

For the base of the head, fold two layers of paper in half, forming a fold line. Open back.

Step 2

Make additional folds, joining the sides in the middle.

Step 3

Open the shape.

Step 4

Slide the top sheet of paper from the edge to the first fold. Glue the sheets together.

Step 5

Fold to create a block.

Step 6

For the handle, place two new sheets of paper so that the bottom sheet protrudes a couple of centimeters.

Step 7

Twist a tight tube and secure it with glue along the protruding edge.

Step 8

To attach the handle, fold a narrow strip of one sheet of paper.

Step 9

Bend the side sections of the shape three times towards the intended middle line.

Step 10
Step 11
Step 12

Fold the strip in half lengthwise.

Step 13

Cut the resulting shape into two equal parts, and bend each part to form a corner.

Step 14
Step 15
Step 16

For the holes in the head part, mark the intersection point of the diagonals of the second and fourth planes.

Step 17

Draw a circle equal to the diameter of the tube for the handle (you can trace it around the handle).

Step 18

Make cuts from the center of the circle to the edges.

Step 19

Insert the tube through two planes, as in the sample.

Step 20

Glue the corners, fixing the handle in the desired position.

Step 21

Glue the parts of the striker that overlap each other.

Step 22

For the sides of the striker, divide the sheet of paper into four equal parts.

Step 23

To do this, fold it in half twice, matching the sides, and cut along the fold lines.

Step 24

Glue the strips of paper crosswise, bend the protruding parts, coat them with glue, and insert them into the side holes of the main part of the hammer.

Step 25
Step 26
Step 27

To lengthen the handle, wrap two layers of paper around the finished tube and secure it with glue.

Step 28
Step 29

The hammer turned out to be quite big!
