To cut a hexagon out of paper, it is not necessary to take complex measurements. We will do this without a ruler and calculations in a simple way – even a beginner can handle it. The main thing is to follow the step-by-step instructions to the dot. To create it, you only need a sheet of paper and scissors. The resulting figure can be used as a basis for assembling other origami models.

Step 1

Prepare a square of paper of the desired size – 12×12 cm, 15×15 cm, 20×20 cm, or another. Place it face up as shown in the photo.

Step 2

Fold the square in half, connecting the bottom and top corners.

Step 3

To continue work, you need to make 4 small folds on paper.
To get the first fold, fold the bottom corners of the triangle together and, without bending the whole figure, pinch the paper in the middle of the bottom side.

Step 4

For the second fold, fold the bottom right and top corners together and, as in the previous step, pinch the paper in the middle of the right side of the triangle.

Step 5

Now, the right side of the triangle is visually divided into 2 parts. Fold the top half in half and, without bending the paper, pinch in the middle again.

Step 6

Fold the section between the two folds in half and make the last 4th fold.

Step 7
Step 8

Bend the paper so that the fold passes through 1st and 4th folds.

Step 9
Step 10

Bend the lower left corner as shown in the photo.

Step 11

Cut off the top of the figure. For convenience, you can draw an assisting straight line with a pencil.

Step 12
Step 13

Expand the resulting triangle – the figure is ready.

In such a simple and understandable way, you can cut an even hexagon out of paper without any extra effort. You will definitely like it if you do not like to draw and calculate the dimensions of a figure. Interestingly, until the last step, it is difficult to understand what will happen. The size and color of the model are up to you – experiment and make several crafts at once as a basis for new interesting models.
