Origami Painter’s Hat
The artist’s hat made out of paper will come in handy in many situations. You can make a hat from a large sheet of newspaper or white absorbent cotton. This hat is pretty universal, it will protect from the sun, and it can be worn during the repair work, so as not to get dirty, or for a performance. So let’s make it!
We will start with preparing a rectangular sheet of paper. It is convenient to use wrapping paper.
Fold the sheet of paper in half vertically. Run along the line with your fingers and unfold.
You should get this result.
Fold the sheet in half horizontally by joining the top part with the bottom part and aligning it.
Fold the left corner towards the middle.
Fold the right corner of the model also to the middle. Look at the photo.
Fold the bottom edge of the horizontal piece in half, bending only the top layer. Look at the photo to see what the result should be.
Fold the same layer a second time, covering the bottom of the triangles.
Turn the piece of paper over.
Fold the right side to the center. Repeat the same steps on the left side. The layers of paper have increased, the figure becomes denser, and further work will be done with effort. Be prepared for this.
Twist the remaining bottom part once, and see how it looks in the photo.
The next step is to wrap the fold again to the top part and put it behind the first layer. For this step, be careful not to wrinkle the beanie and tuck the brim in well.
Fold the beanie diagonally toward the middle from both corners. This will form a triangle in the center part.
Now the hat needs to be unfolded and shaped into a diamond shape. Make the shape flat and press all the folds well.
The corner parts on the right and left need to be bent and hidden under the white tabs.
Open the hat carefully by sliding the right and left parts apart.
The hat is ready!
If the same hat is made from a large sheet of paper, then it can also be worn.
