Origami Paper Bookmark with Cat
Bookmarks with cute kitten faces, pointy ears, and round paws made according to the proposed pattern will delight reading lovers. With such an accessory, the pages of your favorite book, comic book, or diary will open in the right place and will not become wrinkled from frequent flipping. Such a thing in a school textbook will really surprise your classmates, while a friend or younger sibling will like it as a birthday gift.
The bookmark consists of two parts. For the head, you need a square measuring 17 by 17 centimeters, for the body – a rectangle size 20 by 10 centimeters. It will be fun to change the size of the shapes and get kittens of different builds: funny fat ones with chubby paws or skinny ones with big heads. The choice of color and texture of paper, decorations, and accessories is also an interesting stage of work, which will emphasize style and hobbies.
Fold the top layer of the rhombus in half on both sides and rotate the figure, placing the aligned triangles towards the right hand.
Align the right half of the bottom with the vertical middle line and direct the acute angle of the figure obtained by bending to the central point of the shape.
Align the left side of the triangle with the vertical middle line. Tuck the corner into the fold.
Turn the remaining corner of the figure towards you and bend it up. Tuck the folded part of the figure inward, pushing one layer away. Tuck the remaining paper and turn the shape over.
Mark the middle horizontal line, fold the sides towards the middle, turn the strip over, and place it vertically.
Fold the upper corners to the middle, turn them over, bend the resulting triangle along the base line, and open all the folds.
Fold the corners towards the middle, fold the top down along the base of the triangles, and turn the corners back, leaving a horizontal fold.
Fold the paper again along the marked line, turn it over, form a triangle at the top, and turn it back over.
Round off the sharp corners of the legs along the bottom, making folds and tucking them inward.
A painted smile will make the cat friendly and cheerful; glasses will give it an intellectual appearance; bows or earrings and bright colors will add personality and appeal. Have a good time playing it!
