Origami Small Boat

The peculiarity of kayak boats is a closed bow and stern. The rower sits deep, almost at the bottom, and steers the boat with a two-bladed oar. In calm water, such a boat can reach good speed. To make an origami kayak you will need one sheet of paper and basic paper folding skills. The correctness of the lines and symmetry is achieved by the accuracy and precision of the folds. The most difficult technique for assembling a boat is inverted folds, when the corners obtained as a result of folds are turned outward. This technique ensures strong adhesion of the folds of the paper structure without glue or other connecting elements.
Make a square from a sheet of paper. Connect the top edge of the sheet to the side. Trim part of the paper. You can take a ready-made origami square.
Draw the diagonal lines. Bring together opposite corners and open it back.
Bend all corners to the middle, the point of intersection of the assisting lines.
Bend all corners of the shape from the center to the edges.
Turn the shape over.
Bend the bottom and top edges of the figure to the assisting horizontal line.
Turn the shape vertically.
Fold the top corners along the fold line.
Fold the sides of the top corner towards the center.
Repeat steps 9 and 10 at the bottom of the workpiece.
Bend the opposite corners on the wide side of the figure towards the midline.
Turn all the folds outward at the outer corners.
Straighten the folds, and give the figure its initial shape.
Place the side parts of the figure vertically – these are the sides.
Raise the folds on the bottom of the boat – these are the bow and stern parts of the boat.
The kayak is ready. You can play with it.
