Origami Star of David

This craft is easy to fold from a rectangular sheet of paper the size of a dollar bill. Or even from the bill itself! A 15x30cm rectangular sheet of paper makes a 10cm star, and a 7.5x15cm sheet makes a 5cm star.

Step 1

Take a rectangular piece of paper and fold it along the horizontal axis. Work out the fold and unfold it.

Step 2

Fold the left edge so that the top corner is on the horizontal fold and the fold line goes through the bottom corner.

Step 3

Fold the left side of the paper diagonally twice as shown in the photo.

Step 4
Step 5

There is a small corner sticking out at the top – tuck it inside, between the layers of paper.

Step 6
Step 7

You will have a triangle.

Step 8

Fold it in half so that the fold line forms a perpendicular from the top to the base.

Step 9
Step 10

Mark the lines of the two folds by connecting the top corner first to the right corner, then to the left corner. Fold and unfold several times.

Step 11

Now the fold lines form a center point in the middle. Fold all three corners so that their tops meet at this point.

Step 12
Step 13

Turn the paper over. You have a hexagon.

Step 14

Each side of the hexagon should be folded to the center.

Step 15
Step 16
Step 17

Let the outside corners remain pointing in different directions, while the inside corners should be tucked under each other as shown in the illustration.

Step 18

Flip the figure and get the finished star!

A beautiful star can be both a table decoration and a great gift.
