The swan is a symbol of purity, love, and fidelity. Surely you know that a swan chooses its mate once and for life. A perfect picture of love, isn’t it? That’s why images of white swans are often used in wedding themes or decorations of interiors of bedrooms or romantic hotels.

We offer you one of the variants of creating a swan figure in origami technique. The swan will turn out to be a little geometric contemporary beautiful. We recommend taking simple white paper. Such origami can complement a gift for newlyweds, which will be very symbolic.

If you plan to use your paper swan for other purposes, you can choose bright saturated colors. Let’s not waste time and start crafting!

Step 1

Fold a square sheet of white paper diagonally, crease the fold, and unfold.

Step 2

Fold the bottom parts symmetrically towards the center line.

Step 3

You should get a narrow triangle pointing down, just like in the photo.

Step 4

Turn over the paper. Make double fold along the lines indicated in the photo.

Step 5

First, make the wider fold. Iron the folding line well with your fingers.

Step 6

Now it’s time for the second fold, a narrower one. Check yourself with the photo.

Step 7

Repeat the privois steps on the left side.

Step 8

Bend the bottom up.

Step 9

Bend the corner down, making the head of a swan.

Step 10

Now, create the swan, squeezing the shape from the sides.

Step 11

Open up the wings and iron the surfaces, creating a more realistic look of your bird.

Step 12

Pull back the neck and head of the swan a little, opening it so that it can stand.
