Twisty Rose Origami

Let’s start with the base of the origami Water bomb.

Fold the left and right corners with the tips towards the center corner, grabbing only the top layer of paper.

Now, bend these corners down, crease the folds, and unfold.

Open the paper a little and make a “flattening fold” by pressing on top. Repeat on the opposite side.

Turn the paper over and repeat previous steps on that side.

At the bottom of the resulting triangle, you should see two squares. Make a diagonal fold, taking turns at the inner corners.

Turn over the paper and repeat previous 2 steps.

Bend the top corner down to match the edge of the shape.

Crease the fold well, then unfold.

Slightly open the paper from the bottom, as shown in the photo.

Now, the hardest part: you need to flatten the paper to make a square.

To do this, you need to take hold of the edges of the paper that stick out vertically in the center and open them by pulling them in different directions.

Then, fold them into a horizontal plane. Folds of paper on four sides should collapse inward.

Turn over the paper.

Raise the bottom triangle so that it stands vertically.

Touching only the top layer, fold the paper along the dotted line, as shown in the photo.

Rotate the paper 180 degrees and repeat the action again.

The rose is almost ready.

There are a few details left: put the figure in the palm of your hand, grab its center, and make rotational movements with it so that the rose acquires a twist. The resulting curved petals can be fine-tuned individually with a pencil or pen.
